The 2009 Marsiling EMB Presentation was held on 27 Dec (Sun) at Fuchun Secondary School. Over half a million dollars worth of scholarships and bursaries are awarded to deserving students staying in Marsiling Constituency. Ten per cent of the funds are raised by the Marsiling Grassroots Organization.This year event started off with a group of talented youths from the Marsiling Chinese Orchestra playing a few pieces of music. The event organizer has also invited a Singapore Idol contestant from Marsiling to sing two pieces of songs to welcome the recipients and their parents.
Subsequently, two Marsiling residents spoke about their unique learning experiences to motivate the recipients of the presentation. The GOH, Mr. Hawazi then delivered his speech and the event ended off with Grassroots leaders giving out the awards to the recipients. All recipients are given the opportunity to take a photo with the GOH.
